Fairhope started as a dream for a group of populist reformers seeking to create a utopian society based on the ideals of its founder Henry George’s Single Tax philosophy. The first single-tax colonists recognized the importance of a community sharing in the best parts of the community. Today, Fairhope’s biggest assets such as much of its waterfront, scenic bluffs & parks are open for all to enjoy.
With flower-lined downtown streets and brilliant sunsets you can spend the day shopping in one-of-a-kind boutiques and nights propped up in an Adirondack chair overlooking Mobile Bay. Visit with a pelican on the pier, take a stroll along the bay, get inspired at an art gallery or dine in one of our fantastic restaurants.
